Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders, Today
The Purposeful Leaders Program (PLP) is a digital program designed to help young women develop the confidence, skills, and mindset to lead with intention.
Self-paced learning. Anywhere. Anytime.
We Need to Support Our Future Female Leaders Now!
What we know is that the world is changing fast. Technology, workplaces, and leadership expectations are evolving. Yet, women remain underrepresented in leadership roles. At Future Female Leaders, we have seen first-hand the positive impact of educating, encouraging, and empowering our female leaders early!
The Facts
- Only one in five CEOs in Australia are women. (WGEA, 2024-25)
- Young women are less likely than young men to see themselves as future leaders. (Deloitte, 2024)
- Confidence, communication, and resilience are among the top three leadership skills employers seek – yet most schools don’t teach the skills directly. (Australian HR Institute, 2023)
That’s why we created the Purposeful Leaders Program – to give young women the head start they deserve and enable them to leap into leadership at school, in life, and in their future careers.
Practical Learning for Real Confidence
The Purposeful Leaders Program is an 8-module online course, designed for young women aged 15-18, with many of the topics covered flagged by the World Economic Forum as essential skills for modern leadership.
Students learn through short, high-quality videos presented by Claire Seeber and Emma Burdett, both experienced facilitators with over 15 years in leadership and career development.
- Self-paced and flexible – complete it in two weekends or over the school term.
- Interactive activities, short quizzes, and downloadable exercises.
- Designed to be completed solo or with a friend, because leadership grows through collaboration.
- Students receive a certificate when all eight modules are complete.
What The Purposeful Leaders Program Does for Young Women
Builds Confidence
Developing leadership skills empowers young women. It builds self-confidence, enabling them to pursue their learning, life and career goals, take risks, and navigate challenges in their lives without being paralysed by the fear of failure.
Builds Resilience
Resilience is widely regarded as one of the keys to growth and success in life, with great leaders known to have resiliency as one of their key traits. The World Economic Forum also includes resilience as a key characteristic of modern leaders.
As a developed skill, there is no better time than early adulthood to learn resilience.
Builds Essential Leadership Skills
Successful leaders rely on a range of practical skills. The Purposeful Leaders Program helps young women develop capabilities such as emotional intelligence, communication, networking, and the ability to articulate ideas clearly and influence others. These skills support a smooth transition into adulthood and prepare them for future leadership opportunities.
Why Learn Leadership Skills Now
There has never been a more important moment to invest in the leadership of young women. When leadership skills are developed in late adolescence, confidence strengthens, self-belief deepens, and the foundations for a flourishing adulthood are set.
By learning how to communicate clearly, think critically, lead with integrity, and navigate challenges with resilience, young women become equipped to handle life’s complexities and step boldly into the many roles they will hold in the future.
The world needs more strong, grounded, capable female leaders. And that empowerment doesn’t start someday. It starts now.
What there is to Learn
The Purposeful Leaders Program equips students with the confidence, clarity, and skills to lead with intention – at school, in their relationships, and in the wider world. Across eight thoughtfully designed modules, students explore what leadership truly means, strengthen their mindset, and develop the ability to influence others in ways that are ethical, authentic, and impactful.
Redefining Leadership for Purpose
Module 1 challenges outdated ideas about leadership and introduces a purpose-led approach grounded in values rather than titles. By the end, students will be able to define leadership in their own terms, connect it to their lived experiences, and begin shaping a leadership identity focused on meaningful impact rather than perfection.
Self-Awareness & Mindset
Module 2 explores self-awareness as the foundation of effective leadership. By the end, students will understand how their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours shape the way they lead, develop a growth mindset, use feedback constructively, and build the courage to take action even when it feels uncomfortable.
Resilience, Flexibility & Grit
Module 3 focuses on building real, everyday resilience. By the end, students will understand what resilience truly looks like, identify strategies that help them stay grounded under pressure, and learn how flexibility, grit, and humility work together to support long-term wellbeing and leadership growth.
Emotional Intelligence
Module 4 explores emotional intelligence as a critical leadership skill. By the end, students will be able to recognise and regulate their emotions, practise empathy, communicate with clarity, and give feedback in ways that build trust, strengthen relationships, and support growth.
Navigating Uncertainty with Critical Thinking
Module 5 develops the student’s ability to think clearly in complex and uncertain situations. By the end, students will be able to challenge assumptions, recognise bias, ask better questions, and apply structured thinking tools, including the Five Elements of Effective Thinking, to solve problems creatively and confidently.
Networking & Relationships
Module 6 explores how strong, intentional relationships support leadership and teamwork. By the end, students will understand how to build trust, communicate authentically, contribute positively to teams, and strengthen relationships across school, sport, friendships, family, and work.
Leading with Influence
Module 7 teaches how influence works without relying on authority or titles. By the end, students will understand how to communicate clearly, use persuasion ethically, practise generous leadership, and recognise everyday moments where their actions and choices create impact.
Mentorship & Storytelling
Module 8 brings leadership to life through storytelling and mentorship. By the end, students will be able to shape meaningful stories from their own experiences, practise vulnerability as a leadership skill, understand the role of mentorship, and use storytelling frameworks to influence how others think, feel, and act.
Each lesson includes short videos, reflection activities, and quick quizzes to make learning engaging and easy.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the program take?
There are 8 modules in the PLP, and each module has 4 lessons. For each lesson there is a 5-8minute video and then a PDF activity to download. Once both are compelted, there is a short multiple choice quiz to confirm the learning of that lesson. We recommend allowing 45-minutes for each indivual lesson.
Can I do it with a friend?
Absolutely! We really encourage group-based learning and a buddy for sharing thoughts (as well as accountability). Students can both sign up and work through the lessons at the same pace. When it comes to the activity for each lesson, that will happen together offline.
What age group is this for?
The Purposeful Leaders Program is designed and crafted with female identifying students between the ages of 15-18 years-old in mind. The content is very applicable to other ages, but we recommend contacting the Future Female Leaders team to discuss when students are outside of this age bracket, so we can ensure they are gaining value from the learning style.
Is it recognised?
The Purposeful Leaders Program is not an accredited program at this stage.
How do scholarships work?
As an organisation, Future Female Leaders partners with a number of industry investors and regulary runs fundraising campaigns. When scholarship funds are obtained, we align placement offers with any parameters set by the funding companies and assess scholarship applications on an individual basis.
